Badge Annunciation

Product description

This pewter badge is a replica of several originals from the 2nd half of the 14th century. The Annunciation of the Lord Jesus is depicted on this badge.

The crowned Virgin Mary is depicted, at her right stands the archangel Gabriel. Between them the text ‘ECCE : ANCL : AVE : MARIA’. Below them a lily grows in a pot, this lily symbolizes Mary’s virginity, the acceptation of Jesus and innocence. The whole scenario takes place in the architectural setting of a cathedral.
